Instant Style: The Scarf

A scarf is an instant style update to almost
any outfit.

My own collection span about 50-60 different
scarves, from designer items to must haves
from the High street.

I am in love with this purple/black/white one
I just bought for my fall wardrobe.

How the Celebs wear it

Miss Bilson is the queen of scarves. She always
work this accessory very well, from huge drapings
around the neck to lovely loose hanging silk scarves.

Kate Hudson brings life to her white dress by adding a
colorful blue silk scarf. Diane Kruger pumps up a
casual jean look with this white and black scarf
from (can you believe it)H&M.

I love a great scarf, it can make a outfit look like a million dollars. Its such an easy way to accessories an outfit, weather it is a dress or a casual jeans look. For fall, I am into colors like purple, black & white, green and mustard yellow. The high street has a great selection, and I just picked up the scarf Diane Kruger is wearing. Supposedly it sold out in a few days, after she was spotted wearing it, however they still have many other great ones as well as Forever21, Topshop and Asos.

Inspiration is such a wonderful thing. It comes and goes, sometimes I remember it for a moment and then it passes, like a visitor at bay. First I thought my mind was giving in on me, but then I realize that it is a form of daydreaming that generates new ideas. Now I always write things down in my pink notebook, so I can go back and look at them. Lately I have had a new found love affair with blue, and that reminded me of one of my all time favorite Vogue covers with Jerry Hall. Its such a fresh and vibrant cover and always puts me in a good mood. What I love about all these covers is that they are great for inspiration for this summers 70s look. The braids, the blues and the red and pink(which are quite daring, but a combination I personally love). And you cant really talk about the seventies without mentioning Jane Birkin, and she looks so lovely here. The brown hair towards the orange letters are just beautiful. I am sure I am forgetting something, but that is the falldown of daydreaming..
Do you have any favorite covers from another area? Where do you find inspiration? Let me know!

A Tribute to A Fashion Legend

The designer and his models in the Safari khaki look, that since has become one of his signature styles.

The African queen by YSL

The designer flanked by his models after the spring 84 collection. These gorgeous coctail dresses was also was a staple in his collections. As a vintage hunter myself, I can safely say that dresses, the safari look and the suits are what I always look for at upscale vintage shops.

This post will be in english, I hope you esteemed readers forgive me for not wanting to express my feelings twice on this sad day for fashion. Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest designers of all time, died yeasterday at the age of 71. YSL was known for changing the way women dress, by dressing them up in elegant pantsuits for day and night. Whic was at that time, quite daring. He is also know for the safari jacket, the leopard prints and his gorgeous long coctail dresses. Style, sophistication and a real understanding for the female body, is just some of the words I would use to describe his collections.
YSL started out as Christian Diors «right arm» working for the designer, who recognized his talents and took him under his wings. After Diors unexpected death in 1957, YSL took over as the head designer. A year later his breakthrough came with the «trapeze»line. The look of narrow shoulders and wide swinging skirts, was a hit after Diors New Look area.
He is recognized by many for the rejuvination of the the French fashion, and securing his countrys position as one of the leading in the world of Haute Couture. For me, and other fashion lovers all over the world, he will be remembered for his exceptional taste, his real love for fashion and those glamourus gowns, that for always will remain in style. Rest in peace.

Craving: New shoes

How I lust for these Balenciaga shoes! I mean come on, they are to die for. But I will have to settle for a cheaper version, so I am not breaking my budget. After all I am going to Paris and will need some spending money!

Style Icon and new Scent

After a great day at work I stopped by the market to pick up some pink roses. And of course I happened to swing by the parfume shop and pick up the latest Chloe, portraits of women. I first smelled it yeasterday and I just could not get it out of my head. I just love both the smell and the bottle. And on top of that, one of my style icons, Chloe Sevigny is one of the models for the parfume. I adore her style and her creativity, truly a interesting woman. Do you have a favorite parfume?
